Before
towing any vehicle, consult your owner's guide.
- Check with State law
enforcement agencies, if you are uncertain about laws in
your area.
- The American Tow Bar should
never be used in a recovery manner.
- Never back up with the tow
bar attached.
- Do not over tighten the tie
down straps.
- Do not ride in the towed
vehicle.
- Important: Be certain the
tow bar is correctly centered on the car being towed.
- Avoid sharp turns which can
cause oversteering and wheel drag on the towed vehicle.
- Make wide turns.
- Safety cables required by
Federal law. Always cross them, so the cables "cradle" if it
should come loose. Also, it equalizes length of cables on
corners.
- Check your tire pressure and
wheel alignment before towing.
- Recommended towing capacity
6000 pounds.
- Never tow without heavy duty
brakes on(Vehicle-1).
- The American Tow Bar should
never be used on a hitch that is not secured to the frame of
Vehicle-1.
- The recommended weight class
should be no less than a Class 111 Hitch(5,000 #lbs) on
Vehicle-1.
- Never tow on snow or ice!
- Drive at posted speeds while
using a tow bar.
- Avoid thick sand and gravel
found in parking lots. This can cause the front wheels to
turn sharply resulting in the toad vehicle being dragged
through the gravel and sand. If this happens, simply get
behind the steering wheel of the toad vehicle and turn it to
the center. Sometimes people have used a bungi cord attached
to the bottom of the steering wheel and to the bottom of the
driver's seat.

possible when attaching the Easystreet universal tow
bar, not to allow the tie down straps to run underneath
the tow bar. It should be out to the sides away from the
tow bar itself. |

Left: The American
Universal Tow Bar should never be used in a
recovery manner.
This means to push or
pull a car that is stuck or if the wheels become or are
hindered in any way.
It is recommended
that a tow truck be used in these situations. This tow
bar is only safe to be used for its intended purpose and
the operating instructions. |
